    What's Eufuria?

Eufuria is a furry convention experience in New York State. One of the largest furry conventions in the world, Anthrocon, originated right here in Albany. However, Upstate New York had been without a furry convention for many years. In 2023, we aimed to bring a furcon back to the long-underserved Capital Region. Our inaugural event was met with a fervent response from the local furry community, inspiring us to move onwards and upwards and establish Eufuria as an annual convention.

    What is a Furry?

A furry is someone who enjoys the concept of animals that think and act like people, and wants to be called a furry. The furry community was birthed out of the sci-fi convention scenes of the 1980s, and with the help of the internet, began rapidly growing into a global phenomenon. If you're familiar with other geeky/nerdy subcultures, like anime, comics, gaming, and LARP, you'll easily recognize strong similarities in furry. The main difference is that our characters are animals instead of humans (or superheroes, or wizards, or zombies...)Creativity and self-expression are pillars of the furry community. Other fandoms center around media properties such as books, movies, or TV shows that someone else created. Many furries make up their own characters, and it's often said that we are fans of each other! Art, writing, music, storytelling, role-play, costuming, social networking, and conventions are some of the myriad ways furries participate in our shared hobby. You'll get to see all of those represented at Eufuria.

    Who Are We?

Eufuria is organized by the Society for Capital Region Events and Entertainment (SCREE), a 501(c)7 not-for-profit corporation. We're a passionate crew of people, dedicated to putting on events to bring furries in our community (and their supporters) together. Come visit Eufuria and see what we're all about!

    Code of Conduct

This document details the Code of Conduct set forth by Eufuria. Nothing in this document supersedes law or the rules of any venue where Eufuria and related events may take place; if something is illegal outside Eufuria, it’s illegal inside as well.Revised as of 10/5/2023

In order to attend Eufuria, you must be at least 18 years old on the day of the convention, be a registered attendee, agree to be bound by our code of conduct, and agree to abide by any rules put in place by the venue.

Attendees unable to prove their age through an appropriate identity document will not be granted entry to the event until such time as they are able to do so. Common valid forms of photo ID include a US photo driver's license or non-driver’s state ID, passport, passport card, and military ID card. If you're unsure whether a form of ID is acceptable, you may reach out to us by email at security@eufuria.org. If you pre-registered, the name on your ID must match the name you used when registering online.

SCREE, Inc. reserves the right to decline membership of individuals who we believe to have engaged in actions or behaviors that could put our attendees, the staff, the venue, or Eufuria as a whole at risk. This includes falsifying documentation such as government ID and COVID-19 vaccination cards.

Be mindful and practice common courtesy.
Costumes are not consent: Ask permission before engaging in physical contact with others. This includes, but is not limited to: hugging, grabbing, placing an arm around the shoulder, “glomping” or tackling, bodily lifting or carrying a person, and touching a person’s hair, clothing, or parts of an outfit (including “booping”). If you are told to stop, you must stop. This extends to fursuiters and cosplayers.

All participants - including attendees, volunteers, and staff - are expected to treat others with respect. If you are told by an attendee, volunteer, or staff member to stop a behavior, you are expected to immediately desist and do not resume the activity or pursue the individual. No means no.

Eufuria has a zero tolerance policy for harassment and abuse. This extends to event staff, attendees, employees, and all who inhabit the event space for the event duration. Harassment includes, but is not limited to: verbal abuse, stalking, physical assault, unwanted physical interaction, and conduct or speech that targets or threatens members of protected classes, including those based on age, gender, religion, national origin, disability status, race, and sexual identity; perceived or otherwise.

Do not play music through speakers, including cell phones; wear headphones.

If you feel that you or someone else is being harassed or subjected to prejudice or unwelcome behavior, or notice someone behaving inappropriately, please contact a Eufuria staff member right away.

Eufuria is a private event. Attendees are expected to refrain from taking photographs or video recordings before asking permission from all parties present, who may appear in the photo or video. This applies regardless of attire/fursuit/costume.

Photography and audio-video recording is entirely forbidden inside the headless zones (fursuit cool off rooms).

Journalists, media photographers, and other members of the press interested in covering Eufuria may email board@eufuria.org to request a press pass.

Trades and gifts are permitted. However, you cannot engage in commerce or sell goods in exchange for money unless you are a registered vendor.

Attendees may not vandalize, destroy, steal, or misappropriate any goods, items, equipment, or assets which do not belong to them, whether those are the property of SCREE, Inc., the Eufuria venue, or members and non-members of SCREE, Inc. Do not put up stickers, posters, or otherwise vandalize the venue. SCREE, Inc. will provide designated spaces for collaborative artwork and relevant personal advertising.

Attire covering the following areas must be opaque: nipples of all genders, genitalia, and buttocks. No bare feet, shoes required. Attendees within Eufuria space are expected to conform to normal grooming standards. You may be asked to leave if you or your clothing has an odor offensive to others.

Collars and leashes may be worn as an accessory, however, the leash cannot be held by another individual, tied, pulled, or used to lead someone. Attire that gives the impression of being military or law enforcement is not permitted, with the exception of active duty service members who may wear their service uniform. Attendees may not display symbols perceived as hate symbols as determined by our staff.

Costume or prop weapons must be approved in advance by emailing a photo and/or description of the item in question to security@eufuria.org. Prohibited items include, but are not limited to: silly string, paintball guns, water guns, drones, laser pointers, or similar devices. Local, state, and federal weapons restrictions apply within the venue.

Eufuria does not permit smoking or vaping except within designated areas of the venue. Use of illegal or non-prescribed controlled substances are not permitted within Eufuria spaces. Anyone knowingly or unknowingly providing alcohol, tobacco, or other drugs to anyone under the age of 21 will be referred to local law enforcement. Some additional things you might want to bring include furry badges, portable game console, sketchbook, costuming gear if you're fursuiting or cosplaying, and stuff for the panels you plan on attending, such as goods to trade at a swap meet.

We advise you also review our venue's policies.

We anticipate being able to offer at-con registration on the day of the con, provided attendance doesn't meet our venue's capacity beforehand. Not at all! We'll have plenty of activities that appeal to a wide range of folks, like gaming, contests, educational talks, art, shopping, performances, and food.

Of course! While costumes and fursuits are fully encouraged, and you may see some at Eufuria, most attendees will be dressed quite unremarkably. Come attired as you're most comfortable! Be sure to review the full dress code policy in our Code of Conduct.

We advise booking a room at our partner hotel(s) to guarantee a private space to change. Fursuiters may not disrobe in the headless zone, as this is a shared space.

Please apply to our vendor hall if you're thinking about engaging in any sort of commerce, including selling art or items at Eufuria. You may give gifts and do trades, such as during a sketchbook swap or pin trading panel, but for legal reasons, you cannot take money in exchange for goods and/or services unless you're registered as one of our vendors. Anyone found to be doing so will have their registration revoked and be asked to leave con space immediately.

Accessibility details will be released once we announce our 2024 venue.

Even if you can't make it in person, you can still purchase a registration to show your support. You can help by sharing our social media posts (links below), and telling everyone you know about Eufuria!

    Frequently Asked Questions

    • When is the event?

    • Eufuria Mini-Con will be held Saturday, July 22, 2023, from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM. More details are on our Schedule page.

    • Where is the event?

    • Cafe Euphoria in Troy, NY. The address and further details can be found on our Location page.

    • Is there an attendance fee?

    • Eufuria Mini-Con 2023 is free to attend! We hope you'll spend your money buying from the vendors in our dealer's den, getting yourself some swag at our con store, and enjoying the tasty food cooked up by Cafe Euphoria. Don't forget, even though it's free, you still need to register first! If you'd like to go above and beyond to help out our little event, and get cool exclusive bonuses in the process, please consider registering at the Supporter or Sponsor tiers.

    • I'm a minor, can I attend?

    • No, you must be at least 18 years old to attend Eufuria Mini-Con.

    • What do I need to bring?

    • Please bring a valid photo ID, proof of COVID-19 vaccination, and face mask.

    • Common valid forms of photo ID include a US photo driver's license, passport, passport card, military ID card, and local government agency ID card. If you're unsure whether a form of ID is acceptable, you may reach out to us by email, linked at the bottom of this page. If you pre-registered, the name on your ID must match the name you used when registering online.

    • Accepted forms of COVID-19 vaccination proof include your physical vaccination card, photo of your vaccination card (front and back), and digital vaccination copy such as the NY State Excelsior Pass. If you're unsure whether your proof of vaccination is acceptable, you may reach out to us by email, linked at the bottom of this page.

    • All attendees, volunteers, staff, fursuiters, and vendors must wear a face mask at all times while inside Eufuria Mini-Con space. You may temporarily remove your mask to eat or drink in the designated eating area, or for health and safety purposes such as administering medication. Your mask must fit securely to the head and cover the mouth and nose. Appropriate masks to use include N95 / KN95 respirators, medical masks (procedure or surgical masks), or non-medical masks. If you're unsure whether your mask is acceptable, you may reach out to us by email, linked at the bottom of this page. Eufuria Mini-Con will have a small supply of masks on hand for attendees who forget to bring their own.

    • Okay, but is there anything else I should bring?

    • We recommend bringing whatever you'd typically take with you on an outing, such as a form of payment (cash or card), phone or a camera for taking pictures, chargers for your devices, necessary medications, and a bag to carry any purchases home.

    • Some additional things you might want to bring include furry badges, portable game console, sketchbook, costuming gear if you're fursuiting or cosplaying, and stuff for the panels you plan on attending, such as goods to trade at the swap meet.

    • In accordance with our venue's policies, please avoid bringing outside food and drink into the venue. Food, snacks, and beverages will be available on site courtesy of Cafe Euphoria.

    • Oh no, I forgot to register! Can I just show up anyway? Is there a cancellation waitlist?

    • Unfortunately, no. There is no waitlist, and no same-day registration. We have a hard cap on attendees due to the venue's fire safety limit, which pre-registration has already reached. No one will be admitted to Eufuria Mini-Con without a registration badge.

    • Do I have to be a furry to attend?

    • Not at all! We'll have plenty of activities that appeal to a wide range of folks, like video gaming, raffles, educational talks, art, shopping, and great food.

    • Can I come if I don't have a costume?

    • Of course! While costumes and fursuits are fully encouraged, and you may see a few at Eufuria Mini-Con, most attendees will be dressed quite unremarkably. Come as you're most comfortable! There's no dress code other than ensuring you're street decent. Attire within the spectrum of casual to risqué is acceptable, provided there is no nudity.

    • Is there a place for me to change at the event?

    • A single user restroom is present on the ground and lower floors of the venue. We ask that fursuiters not disrobe in the headless zone, as this is a shared space.

    • Will alcohol be present?

    • No, Cafe Euphoria is a dry venue. Outside food and drink is not permitted.

    • Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

    • The ground floor is accessible from street level. There is an ADA compliant restroom on this level. Some events are located on the upper and lower floors of the building, which can only be reached by stairs.

    • Accessibility should be a priority, not an afterthought, and we deeply regret that we weren't able to obtain a more suitable location for the mini-con on such short notice. We fully acknowledge the shortcomings of our venue, and ask for your gracious understanding as we navigate our first year running an event. Eufuria Mini-Con will strive to secure a fully accessible venue for future iterations.

    • If you need assistance in any way during the event, including accessing any of the upstairs or downstairs programming, speak to a Eufuria Mini-Con staff member and we'll do our utmost best to assist.

    • Can I take art commissions or sell stuff that I brought with me?

    • Please apply to our vendor hall if you're thinking about engaging in any sort of commerce, including selling art or items at Eufuria Mini-Con. You may give gifts and do trades (like at our furry swap meet panel), but for legal reasons, you cannot take money in exchange for goods and/or services unless you're registered as one of our vendors. Anyone found to be doing so will have their registration revoked and be asked to leave con space immediately.

    • I don't live close enough/I can't go, how can I support the con?

    • Even if you can't make it in person, you can still purchase a Supporter or Sponsor tier registration to show your support. You can help by boosting/retweeting/sharing our social media posts (links below), and telling everyone you know about Eufuria Mini-Con!

    • Want to help out in other ways? Click here for our volunteer form.

    • We do not currently have an online con store, but we're working on that for the future. We fully endorse asking your friends attending Eufuria Mini-Con to buy you merch and mail it to you later. ;)
